خدايا فضل فرما دل بدل دے
بدل دے دل کی دنیا دل بدل دے

Khudaayaa fazl farmaa, dil badal de
Badal de dil kee dunyaa, dil badal de

O God, grant me Your Grace, turn my heart!
Transform the world of my heart. Turn my heart!

– verse 3 –

گناہ گاری میں کب تک عمر کاٹوں
بدل دے میرا رستہ دل بدل دے

Gunaah-gaaree meiñ kab tak umr kaaṫooñ
Badal de meraa rasta, dil badal de

How long will I waste my life in sin?
Change my path, turn my heart!

– verse 4 –

سنوں ميں نام تيرا دهڑكنوں ميں
مزه آجاے موله دل بدل دے

Sunooñ meñ naam teraa dʰaṙkanoñ meiñ
Maza aajaaye, Maulaa, dil badal de

Turn my heart, such that I hear Your Name
in every heartbeat. What bliss that would bring!

– verse 5 –

ہٹا لوں آنکھ اپنی ما سوا سے​
جیوں میں تیری خاطر دل بدل دے

Haṫaa looñ aankʰ apnee maa siwaa se
Jiyooñ meñ teree khaatir, dil badal de

Turn my heart, such that I lower my gaze from all but my mother,
and live the life you want of me.

– verse 6 –

کروں قربان اپنی ساری خوشیاں
تو اپنا غم عطا کر دل بدل دے​

Karooñ qurbaan apnee saaree khusiyaañ
Too apnaa ghamm ataa kar dil badal de

I would sacrifice all the joys of life,
if You would grant me the pain of remorse and turn my heart!

– verse 7 –

سہل فرما مسلسل یاد اپنی​
خدايا رحم فرما دل بدل دے

Sehl farmaa musalsal yaad apnee
Khudaayaa rehm farmaa, dil badal de

Help me to remember you constantly.
O God, be Merciful – turn my heart!

– verse 8 –

پڑا ہوں تیرے در پے دل شکستہ​
رہوں کیوں دل شکستہ دل بدل دے​

Paṙaa hooñ tere dar pe dil-shikasta
Rahooñ kyooñ dil-shikasta, dil badal de

Here I am, grovelling at Your doorstep with a broken heart.
Must I stay broken-hearted? Turn my heart!

– verse 9 –

تیرا ہو جاؤں اتنی آرزو ہے
بس اتنی ہے تمنا دل بدل دے

Teraa ho jaawooñ itnee aarzoo he
Bas itnee he tamannaa, dil badal de

All I want is to become Yours.
This is my only desire. Turn my heart!

– verse 10 –

میری فریاد سن لے میرے مولا
بنا لے اپنا بندہ دل بدل دے​

Meree faryaad sun le mere Maulaa
Banaale apnaa banda, dil badal de

O Lord, hear my plea!
Make me Your devoted servant. Turn my heart!

– verse 11 –

دلِ مغموم کو مسرور کر دے
دلِ بے نور کو پر نور کر دے

Dile maghmoom ko masroor kar de
Dile be-noor ko pur-noor kar de

Illuminate this lightless heart,
Fill this sorrowful heart with joy!

– verse 12 –

میرا ظاہر سنور جائے الٰہی
میرے باطن کی ظلمت دور کر دے

Meraa zaahir sañwar jaaye Ilaahee
Meree baatin ki zulmat door kar de

Beautify my outward behaviour, dear God,
by removing the darkness from my inner state.

– verse 13 –

مئے وحدت پلا مخمور كر دے
محبت كے نشه ميں چور كر دے

Mai-e-wahdat pilaa, makhmoor kar de
Mohabbat ke nashe meiñ choor kar de

Let me become drunk on the wine of recognising Your Oneness,
and dissolve in the intoxication of loving You.
