Merā Dil Badal Dē (میرا دل بدل دے), “Change My Heart”, is a popular Urdu nasheed by Pakistani rockstar turned nasheed artist Junaid Jamshed. Based on the Prophetic invocation, “O Turner of Hearts, make my heart firm upon your religion” (yā Muqallib al-qulūb thabbit qalbī ‘alā dīnik), it takes the form of a penitent prayer to Allah, asking Him to alter the state of one’s heart from heedlessness to constant remembrance.

How long will I waste my life in sin?

Such that I hear Your Name in every heartbeat,
What bliss that would bring! Lord, change my heart!

May I move my gaze away from women other than my mother,
And live the life you want me to. Change my heart!
I would sacrifice all the joys of life
For a moment of sorrow in Your presence. Change my heart!
